Motel One, the European budget hotel chain, has just opened its second hotel in the German city of Leipzig. Following its tried and tested “great design for little money” Motel One Leipzig-Augustusplatz opened its doors on 11th August with room nights starting from just 69€ a night. The brand new 180 room hotel is in a prime location on Augustusplatz, one of Germany’s largest squares. Located next to St. Nicholai Church (one of Leipzig’s most famous) and within striking distance of the Leipzig Opera House and Leipzig University there is plenty for visitors to explore.

The “One Bar” located on the ground floor of the hotel provides a stylish hangout for guests and the public to sit back and enjoy their surroundings. Like all their hotels, Motel One Leipzig-Augustusplatz stays true to its local surroundings and history with its interior design and detailing. A portrait of J.S. Bach, who spent most of his life playing music at the neighbouring St. Nikolai Church, can be admired from the comfort of the bar.

On the first floor, the One Lounge welcomes guests to experience panoramic views of St. Nikolai Church, while resting on a selection of stylish lounge furniture, or enjoying the hotels own library. In the morning a full continental breakfast is served for everyone to tuck in and enjoy together around a large dining room table. Bedrooms are fresh, functional and comfortable following the successful Motel One concept. Free WiFi is available for all guests and air conditioning can be found in all rooms.

This latest edition to the group comes just days after the chain announced a successful financial first half of 2014. Currently Motel One has 51 hotels with over 11,720 rooms across Belgium, Germany, UK and Austria. By 2017 the hotel chain aims to grow to 73 hotels with close to 18,400 rooms.
