Budget design hotel chain Motel One has rolled out yet another turquoise carpet for the opening of their first hotel in Brussels. The new Motel One Brussels is situated alongside the picture-perfect Rue Royale in the city centre and delivers stylish accommodation from as little as €79 per night, in the city known for its historic heritage, chocolate and lace.As always with Motel One location is key and Motel One Brussels stays true to its promise providing city centre accommodation convenient for leisure and business travellers alike. Located in the city centre on the Rue Royale 120, this stylish 490 bedroom hotel is a short stroll away from St. Michael’s Cathedral and The Grote Markt.

The furniture at Motel One Brussels has been exclusively designed and produced for the One Lounge; large, elegant sofas by Baxter are finished with Brussels’ lace. A key visual at all Motel One hotels are the iconic Egg Chairs, originally by the Danish designer Arne Jacobsen, they have been given a Belgian-facelift with a touch of lace.

Living up to its location on the Rue Royale, Motel One Brussels displays artistic designs of the first Belgian king Leopold I and queen Louise d’Orléans, providing a striking image in the One Lounge. Belgian chocolate is displayed with the history of the cocoa bean told in art on the surrounding wall. If beer is more to your taste there is a special selection of Belgian beers served from the bar that can be enjoyed in the hotel’s sunny courtyard garden.

The bedrooms are well equipped with everything you could possibly require including air conditioning and flat screen TV. The en suite bathrooms are designed in dark granite and fitted with Dornbracht washbasins and a deluxe Monsoon shower. Guests of the hotel can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and one of the One Lounge iPads.

The thriving chain currently has 50 hotels in Germany, Austria, Belgium and UK with around 11,540 rooms. Its goal is to grow its portfolio to 74 hotels and 18,000 rooms by 2016 – no easy feat but an achievable one. The opening of Edinburgh-Princes marked the start of a whole string of new openings in 2014 (review coming soon). These include: Berlin, Bremen, Cologne, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Vienna and most notably the first opening in London.
