One of the centre-pieces of the design-led Kartell by Laufen collection has been shortlisted in the Residential Product category of this year’s SBID International Design Awards. The Kartell by Laufen mirrors have been selected as one of the qualifying projects by a technical panel of judges in the first stage of the process.

Epitomising the philosophy of the entire collection of creating open, flexible spaces designed to work more like a living room, the mirrors fit seamlessly into the contemporary or classically styled bathroom and turn the entire washbasin area into a striking focal point.

Measuring 780mm in diameter, the circular mirrors feature a distinctive pleated frame, which can be chosen in a colour to create different moods or as a match for the furniture in the Kartell by Laufen collection – from gold for an opulent finish, orange for a bold, bright look or transparent for the last word in modern minimalism.

The public are now invited to cast their votes for their favourite entries at www.sbidawards.com, with votes counting towards the overall results. Public voting will close at 5.30pm on Friday 5 September, with the winners announced at the SBID International Design Awards Ceremony, held at The Dorchester hotel in London on Friday, 14 November.
