A new apartment hotel has opened its doors in Frankfurt’s new urban district of Europaviertel (“European quarter”). Designed by JOI-Design, the Capri by Fraser reflects the fashion-savvy confidence of the young cosmopolitan guests who will call them “home” while they work in the business hub of Frankfurt.

Featuring 153 studio and one-bedroom apartments, the designers have skilfully merged design with couture and art, and the high-quality furnishings add an elegant touch to the environment whilst retaining a quirky edge to the overall design.

A colour palette of grey and white creates a calm and soothing atmosphere with hints of zesty citrus notes to create a sense of homeliness. A nod to the traditional tailoring of business attire is evoked in the soft furnishings and upholstery, using houndstooth and pinstripe patterns, finely seamed leatherwork and meticulous stitching. A round area rug features abstract floral motifs to introduce residential cosiness for longer-stay guests.

The studios are fully tech-enabled with plenty of electrical charge points and a kitchen kitted out with all the necessities a guest requires for a longer-term stay.

The lobby is an open space, designed to reflect a welcoming living room. A large communal work station enables guests to work whilst they grab something to eat from the Delite. Large bookshelves double as room dividers to subtly break up the space into intimate-seeming nooks.

Caprilicious restaurant offers a range of seating from smaller intimate tables, to larger areas for lively parties. Seating with low and high backs, a long table with an assortment of chairs and a self-service bar for tableware is reminiscent of a comfortable coffeehouse.

Drinx bar takes on a more fashion-conscious appeal featuring bespoke wallcovering with an abstract monochromatic pattern, a leather-lined bar and assorted seating. The bar emanates a soft glow throughout the day, and at a night, a “constellation” of pendant lights stretched across the ceiling emulates a starry night sky. The colour palette here is a silky mixture of petrol blues, rich greys and polished blacks, lifted through bursts of accent colours in the throw cushions and tinted glass cocktail tables.

A small high-tech conference space and fitness room is also available for guests of Capri by Fraser.
