IHG Celebrates the Groundbreaking of the First Staybridge Suites® Hotel in Puebla, Mexico

    InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Operadora MEXAA, announce the groundbreaking of the Staybridge Suites® Puebla hotel. Currently undergoing construction, the hotel is expected to open by Fall 2015. There are currently three Staybridge Suites hotels open in Mexico, including properties in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Queretaro, and once open, this property will be the upscale extended stay brand’s first hotel in Puebla. The 129 suite, eight–story hotel, located in the area of Plaza Mesón del Angel Mall, is being developed with an investment of more than US $12 million by Operadora MEXAA. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by prominent local government dignitaries including Rafael Moreno Valle, Governor of Puebla State; José Antonio Gali Lopez, Ministry of Competitiveness, Labour and Economic Development; and Roberto Trauwitz Echeguren, Ministry of Tourism.

    Boasting well-designed and spacious guestrooms, the new property will offer a mix of studio and one-and two-bedroom/two-bathroom suites, along with more than 700 square feet of meeting space. Amenities such as a complimentary daily hot breakfast buffet and evening reception, daily housekeeping, guest laundry room, fitness center, indoor pool, 24-hour business center, 24-hour guest lounge and outdoor living room with barbecue and fire pit will be available for all guests.

    The hotel will be strategically located at the entrance of the main corridor of Puebla at Blvd. Hermanos Serdan 810. Nearby attractions and businesses include San Jose Cuatro Caminos neighborhood and the Volkswagen industrial park. The Staybridge Suites Puebla hotel is owned and managed by Operadoa MEXAA and franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
