Hotel Okura Tokyo Main Building set for demolition

    Hotel Okura Tokyo Main Building will be transformed during a 4-year reconstruction which started on 1st September 2015. Due for completion by spring 2019, the redesign will cost more than $980 million and will feature the latest technologies to deliver the most luxurious guest experience.

    Yoshio Taniguchi, the son of the Okura’s original architect, has designed the two glass towers which will reach 41 storeys, containing 510 rooms and 18 floors of office space.

    Some facilities currently housed within the Main Building will be relocated to the South Wing which will remain open during reconstruction.
