Renaissance Hotels has announced the reintroduction of the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.The property underwent a year-long $40 million renovation that began in 2014 to completely revamp the property’s interior and amenities, making the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino the leading lifestyle hotel in Santo Domingo.
As the property plays a prominent role in the cultural history of Santo Domingo, much detail and effort went into the preservation of the hotel’s historic aspects and blending them with ultra-modern design elements.
Built in 1942, the hotel has played a role in Santo Domingo culture for more than 70 years. The property recaptures the spirit, culture, and design elements that made the Santo Domingo Jaragua hotel an icon. Located in the heart of the oldest city in the New World, the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino features 300 guest rooms and suites, executive lounge, a sprawling outdoor pool, casino, tennis club and a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa.
The property includes ten meeting spaces equipped with the latest technology and boasts the La Fiesta theatre which hosts up to 1,200 guests. The Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino is the third hotel in Marriott International’s Dominican Republic portfolio following the 2014 opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo and the Courtyard Santo Domingo.
