Villeroy & Boch Group: Driving Strategic Leadership in Bathroom & Wellness and Dining & Lifestyle

The Villeroy & Boch Group is one of the leading providers of premium bathroom and wellness solutions, alongside distinguished dining and lifestyle collections. Founded in 1748 and based in Mettlach, Germany, the company is renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, cutting-edge design and unwavering quality. Today, the Group’s portfolio comprises two global brands – Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard – and a range of local brands, including Armitage Shanks in the UK. With over 12,000 employees, the Group serves consumers in more than 140 markets worldwide.

Strengthening the Group’s Bathroom & Wellness Business

The early‑2024 integration of Ideal Standard has significantly expanded the Group’s Bathroom & Wellness business across product categories, markets and distribution channels. By combining Ideal Standard’s deep expertise in taps and showering with Villeroy & Boch’s established leadership in ceramics, the Group now offers an exceptionally broad range of solutions for both private and professional applications.

While Villeroy & Boch enjoys strong brand recognition among premium consumers, Ideal Standard brings proven project business credentials in healthcare, hospitality, public washrooms and large‑scale developments. This dual-brand strategy not only deepens market penetration in core territories such as Germany, France, Italy and the UK but also unlocks growth opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia-Pacific.

A Legacy of Design, Innovation and Craftsmanship

Founded in 1748 by François Boch and Nicolas Villeroy, Villeroy & Boch pioneered premium ceramics manufacturing, developing both innovative production processes and leading designs that have delighted consumers for centuries. This enduring tradition of design excellence, pioneering innovation and masterful craftsmanship remains at the very heart of the Villeroy & Boch Group.

From the iconic La Boule collection – originally conceived in 1971 by Helen von Boch to showcase how tradition and innovation can coexist – to longstanding collaborations with renowned designers, architects and artists such as Luigi Colani, Paolo Tilche and Achille Castiglioni, the Group draws on a deep-rooted heritage. Today, contemporary voices like Roberto Palomba, Gesa Hansen and Christian Haas continue to influence the brands’ creative direction.

Innovation remains central to the Group’s philosophy. Supported by over 300 engineers in dedicated innovation centres in Germany, the Group develops long-lasting, sustainable and efficient solutions that respond to the needs of modern living. Notable advancements include Villeroy & Boch’s TwistFlush flushing system, which exceeds European standards with its powerful water vortex and Ideal Standard’s FirmaFlow+ ceramic cartridge, designed for exceptional durability and performance.

This forward momentum is underpinned by a long-standing commitment to quality. Generations of manufacturing expertise are reflected in every product the Group brings to market.
