Organic mattresses and beds, made from sustainable materials in Britain, have been Naturalmat’s business for more than 20 years.

Suppliers to luxury hotels all over the world, the expert designers and craftsmen can work to bespoke requirements to suit any room scheme and create a great night’s sleep… naturally.

Naturalmat’s stylish bed bases are built to endure, combining robust and sustainable materials with rigorous hand-made production processes to ensure the finest quality. The bed bases use FSC timber and high end organic fabrics. They can make bed bases to any design, as in recent commissions for the bespoke beds at the Qbic Hotel in Shoreditch, London and the Rose, Deal.

The Luxury Natural Mattresses Range is made by hand from natural fibres. Through carefully constructed compositions of raw materials, Naturalmat can adjust the finished feel of the mattress.

The materials used include organic coir, cashmere, natural latex, organic Devon lambswool and mohair, with the option of hand nested pocket springs.

All of the natural fibres are chosen not only for their comfort giving qualities, but also for their beneficial health properties. They are also treated with Greenfirst, an all natural repellant that wards off bedbugs and dust mites.

Naturalmat’s mattresses are also free of flame retardant chemicals. The unique combination of materials and the way the fabrics are woven ensure that the products meet hotel fire safety standards, without the use of harmful chemicals.

Everything is made by hand in Naturalmat’s purpose-built factory in Topsham, on the banks of the River Exe, Devon. They believe that people, not machines, make a superior, longer lasting product. The team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked.

Naturalmat’s hotel clients include Six Senses Resorts, Hoxton Hotels, River Cottage, Chewton Glen, Z Hotel Group and more than 50 more iconic hotels globally.

Fun fact: People tell Sienna she gives off Bridget Jones vibes, and she loves to bake, always making sure there are shortbreads floating around the office

Work highlights: Sienna joined Forum Events & Media Group while studying Communications and Media, starting in the sales team where she managed and helped launch the first the PA Life Leading Venues of London SHOWCASE, where she built relationships with luxury venues across the capital. Drawn to the stories behind these spaces, she naturally transitioned into the editorial team, creating social media and editorial content. Upon graduating in June 2026, she is excited to be joining as Assistant Editor for Hotel Designs and SPACE.

Fun fact: When not working, Jess can usually be found tending to her kitchen garden in the Sussex countryside or foraging for herbs in the nearby woods. A keen grower, she recently studied a RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles of Horticulture during her spare time.

Work highlights: Jess joined SPACE magazine in 2022 and has since progressed from Assistant Editor to Editor. During this time, she has worked across many aspects of the publication – from shaping editorial strategy and overseeing operations to contributing to art direction and representing the brand on stage at industry events including Surface Design Show and WOW!house.

Alongside her role at SPACE, Jess has built a creative career spanning the arts, culture, design and travel sectors. Prior to joining the magazine, she spent more than a decade in the commercial art industry, in artist liaison, gallery management, and curating collections for the hospitality sector across hotels and cruise ships. During this time, she also worked on freelance projects as a writer, photographer, and creative content producer.
