d line is a leading Danish design brand that provides a total solution with its architectural ironmongery and bathroom products, which are designed to create a cohesive visual expression throughout the space they occupy.

Its products are made from the highest quality AISI 316 stainless steel, a resilient and non-corrosive material and have been designed by world-leading designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Knud Holscher, Tom Dixon and Bjarke Ingels. Additionally, d line offers range of colours and finishes, a 20-year warranty on all its items, and features the innovative Re-handle system, which extends the product life cycle up to 100 years.

    Danish design since 1971
Since the beginning, d line’s design philosophy has been to create products that respond to a need. This started in the 60s when the Danish designer Knud Holscher was working under Arne Jacobsen at St Catherine’s College Oxford. It was his need for a high-quality, coordinated line of stainless steel architectural products that led him to design one – d line. The product series range is designed to meet architects’ needs, so every solution that’s been produced is meticulous in form, function, feel and construction. Every detail of a d line piece is rigorously tested for seamless functioning so that it endures. This is why d line is known for being resistant to wear and tear and for only needing to be bought for the purpose once.

    The world’s first design hotel
Another iconic product is found in d line’s portfolio – the beautifully curved Arne Jacobsen door handle, which was originally designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The hotel opened its doors in the 60’s as the world’s first design hotel and it was a manifestation of Arne Jacobsen’s holistic approach to architecture and design. Arne Jacobsen designed everything within the hotel’s 22 floors, including the timeless lever handle. The iconic, curved lever handle was designed after the shape of a palm’s grip – creating an organic shape and a soft touch. Today, only room 606 remains as it stood in 1960, and it has fully functioned as a guest room until recently. The AJ lever handle endures too and is still one of the most beloved products in d line’s portfolio.

Sometimes good as new is better
d line’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond its commitment to a design that never dates. With the circular system, Re-handle, it takes in original products to be Re-handled. The products are fixed, replaced and polished to work good as new. With each Re-handle, d line saves the environment up to 90 per cent CO2 emission and the same product can be Re-handled up to four times – securing 100 years of use. With an asking price for a Re-handled product that is 60 per cent lower than a newly produced item, it is straightforward to make the enduring choice and reuse instead of buying new.
