On this episode of DESIGN POD, Sophie Harper speaks to Fettle Founders Andy Goodwin and Tom Parker from their studios in London and LA to hear about the perks and practicalities of working across continents…

Founded in 2015 by friends and colleagues Andy Goodwin and Tom Parker, Fettle is a boutique interior design studio specialising in hospitality design.

Hailing from Reading, England, Tom pursued Interior Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. He gained experience working at United Designers and later at Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS), including a tenure in their New York office.

Originating from Matlock in Derbyshire, England, Andy studied Interior Architecture at Nottingham Trent University. He also worked at United Designers and MBDS.

Recognising their strengths as collaborators, Tom and Andy formed Fettle, and saw the benefits of having bases in two continents and have been a transatlantic business ever since.

Having added their unique touch to some exceptional projects internationally, Tom and Andy talk about their experiences working on The Georgian, Santa Monica; Le Jardin de Verre, Paris; San Carlo (Liverpool and London), and Cicchetti, London.

Listen to the podcast to hear more about how the duo got started and for an insight into what’s next for the studio.
