Motel One, the European budget hotel chain, is opening two new hotels this summer in its home country of Germany, following its tried and tested “great design for little money” concept.“These openings are a direct response to growing demand from discerning customers who seek affordable comfort and quality – and who know they’ll find it at Motel One,” said Ursula Schelle-Müller, Head of Marketing and Design, Motel One. “This will be our second hotel in Leipzig, and our ninth in Berlin, and we couldn’t be happier about it.”
LEIPZIG
Opening in August, the 180-room Motel One Leipzig-Augustusplatz will offer single rooms from €69 and double rooms from €79. Guests can enjoy their morning continental breakfast in the stylish and iconic One-Lounge, designed to create the homely and welcoming feel of a kitchen. On the ground floor there will be a separate One Bar, open to public and guests. The hotel is centrally located next to the Nikolaikirche, the famous 12th-century church, and just a short distance from Augustusplatz itself, home to the city’s opera house and university.
BERLIN
The Motel One Berlin Leipziger-Platz is due to open in September, offering single rooms from €79 and double rooms from €94. Built on the site of Berlin’s famous old Wertheim department store, the hotel is built into the brand new LP12 Mall of Berlin opposite the Bundesrat. The hotel will boast 239 comfortable and modern rooms as well as a stylish One Lounge. As always the design of the hotel will be unique to its location, design within the hotel will reflect the Wertheim store, the history of Leipziger Platz and the techno-club “Tresor” which was located in the former building in the 1990’s.
Motel One has 50 hotels in Germany, Austria, Belgium and the UK with around 11,540 rooms. Its goal is to grow its portfolio to 74 hotels and 18,200 rooms by 2016.
