The Roomzzz Aparthotel site in Newcastle has two phases and the development will have an end value of over £5M.

Mark Walton Head of Roomzzz Aparthotel UK comments – ‘2012 is an important year for the brand with key investment into major UK cities. Roomzzz Aparthotel is known for its innovation and with that the ability to attract large and varied demographics to its locations which has driven the company to a strong position year on year. We are investing a further £500,000 into the development of an additional 11 apartments in our Manchester CITY location in order to help cope with demand.’Roomzzz Aparthotel are currently undertaking a bold restoration of Friar House in the City Centre of Newcastle – a large Georgian House originally built in the 1700’s. The building is grade II listed and is being adapted to house 44 lifestyle led, luxurious apartments and suites as part of the completed development. Phase 1 is on schedule to be open in November 2012 with rooms on sale now.

The development of one of Newcastle’s most historic buildings is causing a stir within the industry with anticipation for the scheme which follows the exacting original room layout of Friar House with super luxe suites following the footprint of the house from the grand staircase into the scullery, kitchens, bathrooms and reception rooms. Historic relics from the house such as a bank vault, the cast iron range from the servants’ quarters and sweeping grand master staircase which has been beautifully restored feature prominently within the apartment designs.

Walton continues – ‘Roomzzz booking trends are showing excellent repeat bookings and a clear navigation through our locations by our guests. We have had an unprecedented level of interest in Newcastle CITY with advance bookings well ahead of target.

Newcastle CITY is the fifth site in the Roomzzz Aparthotel portfolio and Walton is confident that the brand will bring new dimension to staying away from home for the North East. He comments ‘Roomzzz Newcastle City gives suggestions and aspirations to a luxurious lifestyle that sometimes may seem beyond our day to day reach – we match luxe and Apple technology with affordability and practicality, the combination of which promises to strengthen the marketplace in terms of luxury stays in Newcastle’.

He continues ‘Newcastle City is an incredibly exciting location for the brand – we are looking forward to being immersed in the rich vibrancy that the City offers residents and tourists alike. We are proud to be a part of Newcastle’s hospitable future. We are bringing an influx of new jobs to the City and are looking forward to Roomzzz Newcastle CITY sharing Newcastle’s famed warmth and hospitality through the Aparthotel and our choice of team to all of our guests’
