Manchester’s Holiday Inn Express on Oxford Road saw a 19.2 per cent increase in revenue during December 2011 having seen an 8.5 per cent increase in occupancy compared to the same period 12 months ago.However, other Manchester hotel occupancy rates only increased by 2.2 per cent in December and hoteliers saw a 1.0 per cent drop in revenue.
Jonathan Smith, general manager at Holiday Inn Express, Oxford Road, said: “December was a great month for us. Being situated so centrally in Manchester and offering rooms of a high standard at reasonable prices enabled us to capitalise on local events on the run up to Christmas as well as key sporting fixtures taking place in the city.”
Since opening, the Holiday Inn Express Oxford Road which is operated by Zinnia Manchester Hotels, has had almost 72,000 guests take advantage of the new style bedrooms, hot breakfast, contemporary bar, function space including meeting facilities and impressive entrance lobby.
