Following the success of the first Design Relief raffle, which raised enough to fund two ShelterBoxes, a second raffle is underway offering even more design-related prizes.
“Each ShelterBox costs £590 so we were delighted to raise enough money to buy two boxes to support the charity’s vital work in disaster-hit Japan,” said Jacqui Jones of design-conscious.co.uk who launched Design Relief.
“Thanks to the generosity of the design community on Twitter and beyond, we not only reached our first target but now have more excellent prizes donated by a range of companies keen to keep the fundraising going and support the life-saving work done by ShelterBox.”
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. It does so in a very simple but hugely effective way – providing a box full of items to provide shelter. A tent, blankets, multi fuel stove, cooking implements, tool set – even a pack of crayons and paper for the children.
Raffle tickets cost just £1 each and the second raffle features a range of prizes from logo and stationery design package to Round Stud flooring tiles from The Rubber Flooring Company’s range. People can also win a 12 months subscription to the Design Club at Hotel Designs.
