The Best Western Honest Lawyer hotel in Durham, UK has just re-opened its doors after a multi-million pound refurbishment programme following last years floods.All the 52 bedrooms have been restored using a contemporary style and modern facilities.
A palette of warm red, brown and purple has been chosen and the rooms now also have 40 inch televisions and six have four poster beds.
The 175 cover restaurant has been reopened and offers a selection of traditional and modern cuisine. The head chef, Harry Bailie who trained at The Ritz in London, aims to make the restaurant a destination in its own right and offers his twist on British classics such as Black Sheep Battered Fish and Chips.
The lounge areas have been opened up to create an open plan area downstairs that is separated into smaller seating areas featuring open fires and traditional furniture.
Externally, two terraces have been created in the fully landscaped gardens.
The hotel is located just two miles south of Durham. Best Western Honest Lawyer Hotel, general manager, Chris Bowron said: “The hotel has had a major cosmetic facelift, but this is not just style over substance. Our restaurant will become a destination in its own right and we aim to offer the very best customer service in the North. We will be a unique hotel as it has a stylish boutique style but also very family friendly offering personal service.”
A new meeting room has also been added to the first floor, the Bridge Suite, which accommodates up to 50 delegates theatre style.
