Developers Todd Palmer and Danny Butler have revealed plans to build a Hampton Inn and Suites hotel along the Northport riverfront in Alabama, US.The hotel will feature 112 rooms and will be built on the existing old gin site property which is at the end of Main Avenue.
Hilton Worldwide has approved the project, allowing for the hotel to be converted into the Hampton Inn brand. Construction is expected to begin this year.
However, the City Council must still approve the design of the hotel so that it fits in to the surrounding area. The council is also to discuss street plans and traffic flow with the developers.
However, the council said that overall it was positive about the proposal and said that it was happy development will finally begin at the riverfront.
The hotel is expected to bring new jobs to the area.
The hotel will feature a mixture of hotel rooms and suites, as well as nearly 280sqm of meeting space which will be attached to the hotel but will feature a separate entrance.
The developers said that the project is expected to cost US$70m to complete.
