The Oitavos, a new five-star luxury hotel and spa will launch summer 2010 in Portugal. Located just 20 minutes west of Lisbon overlooking the West Atlantic coastline, the hotel is set within the Sintra Cascais National Park and will be the first luxury hotel developed on the Quinta da Marinha Original estate.
The contemporary hotel is set amongst sand dunes and pine trees and is adjacent to the award winning Arthur Hills-designed Oitavos Dunes golf course, ranked 88th ranking in the top 100 world courses by Golf Magazine.
Oitavos management said the hotel’s bold design, sleek lines and elegantly simple interiors focus attention outwards. The result is a hotel which embraces rather than competes with its natural surroundings.
The hotel will have 142 spacious guest rooms, including 14 deluxe suites, one superior and one premium suite each with its own balcony offering sea views and vistas over the golf course.
There will be numerous dining experiences including a gourmet signature restaurant, a sushi bar, tea lounge and casual restaurant with open air terrace.
The full service destination spa, inspired by the ocean, will use natural and organic treatment products and offers a holistic wellness approach. There will be 10 treatment rooms, a spa garden and indoor and outdoor seawater swimming pool.
In addition the hotel will feature a state-of-the-art conference centre for up to 300 people; this will have facilities for groups including a separate check in desk and dining facilities.
There will be five additional meeting and boardrooms catering for up to 150 people. Each offers space, daylight, views and technical support.
Set within the family owned Quinta da Marinha Original estate, hotel guests are guaranteed an intimate and private holiday location.
The sporting estate boasts an equestrian centre, a Health and Racket Club and the Oitavos Dunes golf course.
