Edmund Bell has announced that it is joining Material Source Studios in Manchester and London, creating two new destinations where architects, interior designers and hospitality professionals can discover its extensive contract fabric portfolio.

The permanent displays will offer visitors the opportunity to see and handle a curated selection of Edmund Bell fabrics, making it easier to compare colours, textures and performance characteristics at the earliest stages of a project.

For hotel designers, creating the right atmosphere is about far more than aesthetics. Light control, privacy, acoustic comfort, durability and fire performance can all influence the guest experience and the long-term success of a scheme. Edmund Bell’s new Material Source presence will bring these considerations together, helping specifiers find fabric solutions that balance design intent with the practical demands of hospitality environments.

With more than 170 years of textile expertise, Edmund Bell has developed a comprehensive collection spanning blackout and dimout fabrics, sheers, curtain linings and interlinings, decorative prints, woven fabrics and upholstery. Its light-control portfolio includes solutions for guest bedrooms, suites, restaurants, bars and shared spaces, with options available to meet a range of contract performance requirements.

The displays will also introduce designers to Edmund Bell’s latest product developments, including new approaches to blackout construction, recycled fabrics and wide-width solutions designed to support contemporary contract interiors.

Fiona Napier, Managing Director at Edmund Bell, commented: “Hotel fabrics have to do much more than complete an interior scheme. They play an important role in controlling light, protecting privacy, supporting guest comfort and meeting the technical requirements of a busy contract environment.

“Our partnership with Material Source gives designers a much more immediate way to engage with our collections. They can see the colours, feel the fabrics and compare different light-control solutions in an inspiring setting, while also having access to the technical knowledge and specification support behind them.

“We are looking forward to becoming part of the Material Source community in both Manchester and London and building closer relationships with the designers creating the next generation of hospitality spaces.”

Material Source Studio brings leading commercial interior and architectural brands together within creative environments designed specifically for the architecture and design community. Alongside permanent product displays, its studios provide material libraries, meeting areas, events and spaces where designers can work, collaborate and develop specifications.

Edmund Bell’s presence across the two locations will provide greater access to the company’s team and expertise. Visitors will be able to request samples, discuss technical and performance requirements, explore tailored project solutions and arrange a Lunch & Learn session for their wider practice.

Membership of Material Source Studio is free for architects, interior designers and property professionals.
