Warwick Castle has unveiled plans for 28 new woodland lodges set in woods around its 64 acre estate. The lodges — set in a newly created area known as the Knights’ Village — are designed with families and friends in mind for year-round sleep overs.
The new ‘Knights’ Village’, set in the attraction’s 64 acre estate, will consist of 14 semi-detached timber style lodges set close to the River Avon and the Castle itself.
Woodland Lodges sleep up to five guests in two bedrooms (one double bed, one set of bunk beds, plus pull out bed) and are set on one floor. Knight’s Lodges sleep up to seven guests and are set across two storeys, including a mezzanine level with grand galleried master bedroom.
All lodges offer en-suite facilities, including wet rooms, and come equipped with TV, fridge, coffee maker and central heating. Medieval-style features are peppered around the Lodges and banqueting hall, such as lofty ceilings — echoing the Castle’s Great Hall; wooden beams; stonework; and green oak wood-styled exteriors.
Furnished with bespoke items evoking medieval styles, the Lodges boast private accommodation including a wooden deck, a living and casual dining area and storage.
Geoff Spooner, general manager at Warwick Castle, said: “This is a new chapter for Warwick Castle as from 1 July we’ll offer guests year-round lodge-style accommodation to complement the Castle’s two sumptuous Tower Suites, set within the fourteenth century Caesar’s Tower, and our superb seasonal Mediaeval Glamping Village.”
