Morgan Furniture, the design-led British manufacturer of contract furniture, will exhibit at Clerkenwell Design Week, 25-27th May 2010 in London.Set within the elegant Victorian warehouses of the Farmiloe Building on St. John’s Street, the three day event will encompass seminars, entertainment and exhibits that celebrate the very best of international design and architecture.

In the area known as The Shed within the Farmiloe Building, Morgan will showcase a hand-picked selection of its latest Miami, City and Hampton sofa and chair designs which are suitable for many commercial environments and especially striking for reception spaces.

Contemporary vintage style characterises the Miami collection, created by Morgan Design Director Katerina Zachariades. The three seat sofa with its elegant slim profile and buttoned back detailing is accompanied by a matching lounge chair on a black swivel base and footstool. The entire Miami collection has received the highest acclaim with the award of the coveted Design Guild Mark for 2010 for its excellence in design, use of materials, manufacture and function.

The City Collection from the Morgan Design Studio will be on display with its sharp-lined lounge chair and two models of armchair. Designed as a creative response to the current economic climate, City is contemporary and stylish so delivers when itcomes to city-chic looks, but is also quick to make and offers outstanding value.

This is made possible thanks to investment in high-tech CNC machinery and Morgan’s industry leading standards when it comes to ecological and lean production methods. The entire range is made in birch plywood while the upholstered components are easily fitted and removed again for re-upholstery. The City lounge chair has also been honoured with the 2010 Design Guild Mark.

Designed by Katerina Zachariades, the Hampton Collection was launched in late 2009 and exclusively for Clerkenwell a new sofa model will be unveiled. With its classic profile and contemporary detailing, Hampton offers dining, lounge and reception seating with elegant upholstery and clean minimal timber structure.

The new sofa features full height arms which continue round from the back of the sofa and tilt outwards at a gentle angle. An additional cushion provides comfortable support and creates an inviting corner to sit back and relax.

Morgan design and develop all their products in a low energy consuming factory, using materials from sustainable sources. The company is accredited by FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme) and was among the first in the industry to be awarded ISO14001. Morgan also forms part of a lean and environmental improvement ‘think tank’ with other British manufacturers.
