Wilton Carpets has unveiled its latest collection, reinventing Art Deco by introducing new textures for clients to enjoy.

Dubbed Decadence, the line boasts tones of orange and brown, teal and salmon pink, bringing a refreshed approach to Art Deco.

“As part of the Designer Collection, Decadence reveals the true elegance of unrestrained modern carpet design,” said Damian Roscoe, head of creative at Wilton Carpets.

“As we explore our creativity without the usual practical limitations, such as designing for a particular location, we can apply a bold use of both pattern and colour and the results really do make for a truly extraordinary collection.”

Developed by Becky Smith, senior designer, Decadence is available in eight patterns and each carpet has been crafted in a high-quality 80/20 wool blend and can be specified in any quality.

With the ability to adapt any of the eight woven axminster designs in a colourway suited to any interior, this is a collection that offers huge potential for designers looking to strike out with statement carpet.

Dernier & Hamlyn recently completed its third project for luxury hotel brand Four Seasons following successful commissions in London and Baku.

In partnership with Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the London-based bespoke lighting specialists manufactured unique antique brass chandeliers for public areas throughout the Four Seasons Hampshire hotel that utilised a range of a range of its artisans’ skills.

Nine 12-arm pendants 1m high and some 1.2m across were produced for the hotel’s drawing room and five chandeliers hand wrapped in rope were produced for the hotel’s lounge and reception areas requiring painstaking attention to detail to achieve the desired effect.

Dernier & Hamlyn also updated and rewired many of the hotel’s existing light fittings to bring them in line with modern standards and wired vintage lighting that had been sourced by the MBDS team too.

Martin Brudnizki Design Studio said: “We’ve used Dernier & Hamlyn for a number of MBDS’ projects from small restaurants to extremely large hotels. We are always impressed by their knowledge and their expertise and their ability to problem solve rather than just deliver lighting. This was demonstrated again for Four Seasons Hampshire where they balanced the requirements of our design concepts with practicality, aesthetic beauty and affordability.”

Leading manufacturer of stylish electrical accessories, MK Electric, has announced that its latest range of wiring devices, Dimensions, has been shortlisted for Commercial Product of the Year at the Electrical Industry Awards.

Designed to recognise the very best of product innovation in the electrical sector, the Electrical Industry Awards offer a valuable barometer of the latest and greatest products entering the market, providing hoteliers and hotel specifiers with a guide to the best new ranges available.

The Commercial Product of the Year category recognises the electrical accessories which offer outstanding functionality to commercial sectors such as hospitality. Dimensions, which launched this summer, was designed to respond to the needs of audiences such as hotel developers, and includes a two-piece installation process which means that the clip-on frontplates can be easily interchanged to match the evolving décor of a building.

Offering screwless design and a choice of eight different finishes, the range provides scalability which can add the finishing touch to any room – whether that’s a deluxe suite or back-of-house office areas. In line with customer demand, Dimensions also incorporates products such as integrated USB socket outlets for easy smart device charging, LED dimmers, keycard switches and ‘do not disturb’ switches, all with a unified look.

Emma Segelov, head of marketing at MK Electric, said: “We are delighted that Dimensions has been shortlisted for Commercial Product of the Year. We developed the range to meet the needs of a fast-paced commercial hospitality environment, and this award is testament to the success of that – we look forward to the results!”

The winning products will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 26 October at The Royal Garden Hotel, London.
