Sekers launches new collection of wide-width curtains

Sekers has launched BACCHUS, a collection of wide-width curtains, ideal for the contract market…

Hot off the heels of launching FIORA early this month, Sekers has unveiled BACCHUS, a collection of wide-width curtains that are available in a generous range of shades from vivid blues and earthy neutrals to ethereal pastels.

Bacchus includes two fabrics, each representing a distinct route to achieving lightweight contract curtaining. With a chunky yarn and soft drape, semi-sheer Bobal embraces natural light, making a simple and elegant statement. Gamay’s subtle melange colouration, fine woven, opaque appearance and supple drape makes for optimal snoozing.

The Bacchus collection is washable and fully FR tested with Bobal meeting FR curtain standards for the UK and US markets and with Gamay additionally meeting European and IMO FR curtain standards. With the width forming the drop and a fluid drape and subtle texture, Bacchus casts a positive glow on any interior and is an ideal choice for the designer specifying for the contract market.

New curtians and upholstery ranges aimed at the hospitality, leisure and marine markets.

Sekers has taken the wraps off its new Shogun upholstery and Suomi FR blackouts collections.

Described as a semi-plain textured design, Shogun is available in 18 multi-colour shades including what the company calls sophisticated neutrals and porcelain blues.

Incorporating FibreGuard, an advanced finish that Sekers says helps protect the fabric against spills and stains without having to resort to specialist cleaning, Shogun has been designed to be resistant to stains such as red wine and ballpoint pen.

Sekers says Shogun is perfect for the most demanding upholstery application and, as such, the ideal for the commercial hospitality, leisure and marine markets – it’s supplied with a crib 5 flame retardant backing and a Martindale abrasion performance of 60,000 rubs.

Suomi, meanwhile, is a new collection of FR blackouts in three designs, suitable for contract curtains and available in a palette of shades ranging from cool metallic tones and sophisticated neutrals and soft blues and teals.

With a refined drape and subtle shimmer, Sekers says Suomi is an ideal choice for designers specifying for the hospitality, leisure and marine markets.

Woven in 100% polyester with a 3 pass FR black out backing, Sekers says the Suomi collection is suitable for all aspects of the contract market, from hotels to cruise ships, meeting all relevant UK, US & IMO standards for curtains.

Kobe room highs

Said David Harris, Managing Director of Kobe UK: “Seams really can take away from the beauty of a curtain and using single width curtains on standard window heights may mean having to sew seams. Sewing two pieces of fabric together to match the width of the window, creates a join. Not only can this spoil the look of curtains but can be time consuming and expensive.

“With room highs there is no extra fabric and sewing needed to match the width; no seams, look fantastic and drape beautifully. You save money on material, time and sewing costs.”

Kobe has a range of collections featuring room high fabrics as well as the standard widths. Both City Chic and Aurora offer the very latest trends in room-highs.

Curtain Focus: Sanderson’s Woodland Walk fabric range

1000 715 Daniel Fountain

The first Sanderson fabric range of printed cottons was produced in 1919. The Sanderson range of designer fabrics today includes printed designs on cotton, linen and silk, together with jacquard and dobby weaves, embroideries, sheers and a wide range of plains suitable for curtains, upholstery and soft furnishings. Below, Sanderson describes its Woodland Walk range…

Walking through nature has been a favourite British pastime since the Victorians first extolled its virtue.

Wisteria and Butterfly - Woodland Walk

Wisteria and Butterfly

We take joy in strolling through the countryside – be it a ramble with family and good friends at the weekend, or a walk each evening accompanied by man’s best friend. The quiet influence of nature is restful; we take pleasure in a tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The outdoors revives our senses, makes us feel alive.

Sanderson’s ‘Woodland Walk’ collection for spring 2016 evokes all of these treasured sentiments. Inspired by British woodlands and wildlife, the cloths are natural, the imagery beautifully hand-drawn and painted. All the elements of the collection work together harmoniously to create a sophisticated, modern country style.
