A new latest generation InterCityHotel is being developed in Herford in North Rhine-Westphalia. Located within the direct vicinity of the town’s world famous MARTa Art Museum, the hotel is set to meet the artistic aspirations of its environment.

The InterCityHotel Herford will offer 135 rooms, each of which will be at least 20 m² in size, will deliver a feel-good factor whilst conference facilities extending over an area of 100 m2 and featuring two rooms and a pre-function section will be available for meetings and events.

Culinary needs will be served by a restaurant and a Bistro Lounge. The “FreeCityTicket”, which entitles guests to use local public transport free of charge, is included in the price of overnight accommodation and provides a real added value.

The Herford hotel will be Steigenberger’s ninth property in the North-Rhine Westphalia state

Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, believes that the new location is a perfect match for the company’s expansion strategy. “North-Rhine Westphalia is an important federal state for us, and we now have nine hotels here. Herford lies at the centre of a major business region. Our hotel is being developed in the MARTa Quarter, which is named after the famous museum. It will be housed in a modern and design-oriented building that will appeal to art lovers and indeed to all our guests.”

InterCityHotel GmbH’s franchise agreement partner on this occasion is Felix Hospitality GmbH & Co. KG, a company owned by Fidelis Hospitality Group.

The new building has been designed by the Herford-based firm archwerk GmbH & Co. KG, Chief Architect Karsten K. Monke. The technical hotel design concept and initiation of selection of operator was secured by Professor Christian Buer from Nemis, a specialist planning consultancy agency in the hotel and tourism sector.
