Best Western Milford Hotel, located in Peckfield, Leeds, just off the A1(M) J42, has been awarded the highly acclaimed ‘PLUS’ status from the Best Western Group, one of the first hotels worldwide to be awarded the grade. The accolade coincides with the hotel’s completion of its final phase of refurbishment, investing £150,000 to upgrade 17 doubles and 19 twin rooms. The privately owned, modern 3 star hotel joins just 16 other hotels to have achieved this tribute in Great Britain and becomes the third Plus hotel in Yorkshire. The overall renovation programme included all 44 rooms being fitted with 4 star luxury bathroom suites and a complete facelift of 10 larger Superior rooms to deluxe status. Other improvements included air conditioning and sound-proofing in all rooms, a new hotel frontage, upgraded modern conference facilities and the fully refurbished Watermill restaurant, which serves award-winning, freshly prepared food for hotel guests and the local community.

The Best Western Plus status, launched in September 2011, categorises a selection of properties that now sit between the existing Best Western Premier and Best Western tiers. The tiers were created to give consumers more choice and clarity, easing their decision making process, which travel customers are increasingly searching for.

Best Western Plus hotels are everything you would expect from a hotel within the group with extra style, comfort and service. This includes bigger beds and top quality bedding, extended breakfast range and specialities, little treats on arrival 24 hours a day, bathrobes, additional complimentary toiletries and increased comfort and technology to make working and relaxing in the room even more enjoyable.

Best Western Milford Hotel’s managing director, Shaun Sleath, was one of the first hoteliers globally to apply after the launch and after passing rigorous standards and quality assessments, the hotel has been granted with the title and as such changes its name to Best Western Plus Milford Hotel.

Shaun Sleath said: “We are delighted to be one of the first hotels worldwide to be awarded the Plus status. It is a great testament to the ongoing investment, hard work, dedication and determination of the team here. We now have superior facilities and it is an honour to be rewarded with this prestigious Best Western title”

The three tiers have been developed after extensive guest feedback and build on the strict quality standards that all Best Western hotels have to adhere to. Six key areas define the tiers – welcome, food and drink, customer service, bathroom, sleep and work and entertainment. The Best Western tiers set the standard for these key areas of hotel experience and Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier build upon this with additional amenities and personality driven offerings.

Best Western has properties throughout the country ranging from country manors, castles and coaching inns to stylish town houses, super modern retreats and sumptuous secluded getaways, there is a hotel to suit every personality and type of British break.
