There has been a further jump in the number of suppliers of Trevira CS furnishing textiles among exhibitors at this year’s Comfortex in Leipzig in September. Around one quarter of the 143 companies feature in their programmes contract materials in the flame retardant branded fibres from Trevira. For Anke Vollenbröker, Head of Marketing & Business Development at Trevira, this important meeting of the interior furnishings sector has now achieved a high rating: “Here interior furnishers and decorators can find not only the most important suppliers of high quality Trevira CS collections, there are also lots of stimuli to do with daily activities, such as workshops, lectures, upholstery restoration, information on trends etc. Another plus point is Gäste, the trade fair for the hotel, restaurant and catering industries, which is taking place at almost the same time and should additionally attract decision-makers from this important segment“.

This year the fibre manufacturer from Bobingen is again in the picture as sponsor and in conjunction with the Trade Fair Trevira is offering visitors two trend workshops on each of the two days. Participants will gain some insights into the professional activities of the interior furnisher and decorator. Fabric suppliers represented at Comfortex are making Trevira CS materials from their current collections available to create collages. The wellknown interior designer Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk from JOI-Design has been retained as consultant for the workshop and is contributing from her experiences, which are mainly in hotel furnishing and decoration. With short presentations Trevira is also
supplying information on flame retardant contract textiles and assisting participants in fabric selection. The workshop provides the opportunity to learn about the latest materials, compile trend collages and to gather ideas for projects, and is open to visitors at no cost.

Visitors to the exhibition can gain further inspirational insights into the design and decoration of interiors through the “Stoffräume” (“fabric rooms”). These are four trend areas furnished and decorated in different themes which give visual expression to the new fabrics for 2011/12 and enable the onlooker to see how textile ideas in interior design are translated into reality. “The Stoffräume depict mainly private living rooms. But you can find Trevira CS fabrics here too. This is absolutely a reflection of the real situation, since nowadays many high quality Trevira CS fabrics are used not only in the contract market, but have made their way into the private residential sector“, says Anke Vollenbröker.
Andreas Zachlod, project director of COMFORTEX, welcomes the renewed participation of Trevira CS: “We have good and intense cooperation with Trevira and are delighted to be continuing this for our twentieth anniversary and be setting the tone together in the future”. “In Trevira we have once again a committed partner for the initiative Premium Interior Design at Comfortex“, adds Bernhard Zimmermann, sector expert and joint organiser of the groundbreaking exhibition concept.
