Roca has unveiled a new interactive water environment at its flagship bathroom space, Roca London Gallery, in the Chelsea Design Quarter. The new installation allows visitors to experience working shower and tap products to understand how they will perform in a real setting.

Roca has once again worked with Zaha Hadid Design to create the curvaceous installation, complementing the Gallery’s contemporary interior, which was completed by Zaha Hadid Architects in 2011. The bespoke display has been manufactured using solid surface and GRP to house six brassware products, each of them is fully operational.

Woody Yao, Director of Zaha Hadid Design says, “In the spirit of our previously successful collaboration with Roca, Zaha Hadid Design is pleased to add a further installation to showcase the functionality of their products. We have explored manipulating a single surface to create an organic shape to maximise the user experience in an interactive form. The addition to the Gallery seamlessly blends with the existing space, further endorsing this innovative brand.”

“This is a stunning display and a unique addition to the other products within the Gallery,” explains David Bromell, Showroom and Operations Manager at Roca London Gallery. “As well as being visually beautiful it can also give visitors a functional demonstration of different water pressures.

This is key to understanding water flow and performance, ensuring design professionals make the right choice in terms of bathroom design and functionality.”

The brassware on display includes showerheads from Roca’s RainDream and RainSense collections as well as basin mixers from Evol, L90 and Atlas. The Gallery has also installed a new display featuring a customised solid surface basin and shelf, which was recently completed in collaboration with Nous Design for Intercontinental Hotels Group’s newly refurbished King’s Cross hotel.
