Making its much-anticipated debut in September 2016, YOO Hotels and Resorts is launching the group’s first property under the urban Yoo2 brand in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Designed by the acclaimed YOO Design Studio based in London, the 143 room-and-suite Yoo2 Rio de Janeiro will connect Rio’s local soul with cutting-edge design. The launch marks an exciting phase of new openings for the brand, with hotel developments announced in Bali, Thailand and the UK.
TRAILBLAZING DESIGN
Showcasing the brand’s acclaimed design ethic, Yoo2 Rio de Janeiro’s rooms and interiors offer spectacular, unrivalled views of the beach, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) from opposite sides. The design reflects local influences and the hotel has worked with local artists and artisans – including Marcelo Ment, a Rio based street artist who has designed a striking graffiti mural in the lift shaft which can be marveled at from glass lifts as guests travel through the hotel.
Interiors incorporate Rio’s signature colours, patterns and energy with palm-tree and rainforest inspired ceiling prints, street art bedside tables – available for guests to purchase and take home – and the iconic Brazilian-tiled and parquet flooring. The YOO Tree, an organically-designed furniture piece for state-of-the-art AV and books, is a signature feature in every room as is the distinctive YOO Bed.
